Report: Aaron Rodgers turned down two-year deal from Packers
According to Adam Schefter, disgruntled Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers turned down a 2-year contract extension from the team earlier this offseason. The deal reportedly would have made Rodgers the league’s highest-paid player headed into the 2021-2022 season.
Both publicly and privately, Rodgers has made it known that he is unhappy with the situation within the organization, particularly with GM Brian Gutekunst. Whether those feelings are financial or another ongoing issue, the fact remains that it seems like Rodgers may just want out of Green Bay for good.
Rodgers is coming off a 2020 season that saw him win the League MVP award, throwing for 4,299 yards and 48 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions, his most since 2017. Right now, it is uncertain how the situation between Rodgers and Green Bay will end. One thing is for sure and that is it is gonna take more than a record-setting contract to mend these fences.
