Eagles trades Carson Wentz to Indianapolis

The Carson Wentz era in Philadelphia is officially over. The Eagles have traded the former #2 overall pick to the Indianpolis Colts for just a 2021 3rd rd. pick and a conditional 2022 2nd rd. pick. The Eagles were clearly eager to move on from Wentz as tensions between the two sides grew. The Eagles has originally asked for 2 2nd rd. picks at the least, but quickly realized that even that was too steep of a price for Wentz, who struggled mightily in 2020. The move reunites Carson Wentz and Colts Head Coach, Frank Reich. Reich was Wentz‘s OC in Philadelphia during the 2016-2017 campaign, arguably Wentz‘s best season to date. Let’s see if they can rekindle some of that magic in 2021.
