Biden announces new vaccine mandates that will affect over 100 million Americans
This Thursday President Joe Biden announced new vaccine rules on federal workers, large employers and health care staff. This is the latest measure taken by the U.S. president in his attempt to contain the most recent resurgence of COVID-19. Biden has proposed making all employers with more than 100 workers require mandatory coronavirus vaccinations or be tested weekly. President Biden signed an executive order which requires Covid-19 vaccination of all government employees and government contracted companies with no option of weekly testing.
“We’ve been patient, but our patience is wearing thin, and your refusal has cost all of us,” said Biden, as he took aim at the Americans who have remained resilient against taking the Covid-19 vaccine. Companies that refuse to comply with the incoming regulations will face thousands of dollars in fines. The president also called on governors to require vaccinations for employees, school teachers and staff. This is only the beginning of a series of new measures being taken to end the pandemic as quickly as possible, according to Biden and his administration.
